Could've Been Great
I wish the filmmakers would've done more. Three young white women is not enough.
Men lose their mothers too. I know as I'm one of them. People of all different ethnicities and nationalities ...
If the argument is that "Hey this is a story about THESE three girls", then that is fine. But don't call it "the dead mothers club", because that makes it sound like a real exploration of a uniquely difficult topic. This film is careful and sincere, but way too narrow and way too timid about losing one's mother.
The interview segments with the actresses were the most moving parts to me, though the three young women who are the subjects of the film were interesting too.
Just wish it tried to go farther.
