Anyone else recognize Julius Erving? (former NBA superstar)

So, I was just watching my DVR of this and when the first scene arrived with the minister, I thought to myself the actor looks a lot like Julius Erving who starred with the Nets and the 76ers a few decades back.

Seeing the end credits, it turns out it WAS him. I checked him out on IMDB here and find just three credits, the most recent from 1996. I wonder what the story is/was that got him into this production.

Don't forget the classic "the Fish That saved Pittsburg" I was nine when that little diddy came out. Saw it 3 times in the theater:). I also missed the Easter scene from the original. All in all not a bad tv movie. I am a big Queen Latifah fan. Thought she did a good job.
