Vonda McIntyre wrote the story as a screen play in 1997, then expanded it as a novel. I am wondering why she is not credited as a screenwriter, and where the blazes most of the major characters are.... no Lucien? He's the leading man! No Odelette/Haleed? What will be left of the original story?
shareJudging solely by the brief summary and the names of the characters listed, it looks like the film will centre around the relationship between King Louis and Marie-Josèphe and that her discovery of Sherzad will be an unplanned one... It looks like Lucien as "love interest" will be replaced by Yves, since they changed her last name to be different from his.. Unfortunate that they felt the need to get rid of his character, he was probably the most interesting from the novel.
