Too bad kids didn't really manifest this as a result of abuse

If that were the case, nobody would ever abuse kids because of the consequences.

Interesting film, a little too depressing for my taste however.

Nobody in the movie except Neem's parents and perhaps the other fat mother she killed deserved to die.
