NY Times: 'This movie?s earnest infectiousness is tough to deny...'

I watched Ray Liotta, in his preacher role, explain to his congregation how God expects Christians to love His people, the Jews. Liotta was amusing and convincing as a fiery Bible-thumping evangelistic preacher man and his on-screen message was one that, likely unknown to many of you, is at the center of a storm shaking two opposite sides of the aisle, so to speak, in today's U.S. Christian churches: whether Israel should exist as a nation and whether the church has replaced Israel.

The point is: there is decent acting, real issues beyond that of the twins and Elvis, and some pretty good screenwriting involved here. Far better than the hate-filled comments on the message board would suggest. Good enough to garnish at least a couple laudatory comments from the NY Times, no less.

While Christians plugging this film with "10" ratings are not being realistic or honest, neither are their opposites here who are pretty nasty and, let's face it, haters in their mean-spirited attacks. You people make this film sound like the worst kind of porn--with no socially redeeming values. Frankly, you sound like graduates of the Jesse Ventura academy of integrity and charm.
