So the biggest part of story (note) based on when real father passes (even though he ALOT younger lol) but they moved away, as movie made clearer. So how would Liotta even know when he died. Jeez, can't even get that right.

shareThere was a stipulation in the adoption that he could not be told about his birth parents until they were dead. That's why the birth father gave the adoptive parents the letter. Reece also referenced this agreement when the mother wanted to tell him the truth about who he was. He had promised he wouldn't tell. Loved this movie, but yes, there were a few inconsistencies. Definitely worth watching though.
shareI'm thinking maybe the preacher subscribed to some area newspaper around where the natural parents lived & would check the obits. Just a thought.
