Because I said so. It don't make It so.
But....It Is so....with me.
Much more tolerable.
Although there were some things that didn't gel quite as good.
But most movies and shows have their flaws.
I agree mainly because the plot was more interesting.

shareThe main difference between HSM and TBM is TBM is supposed to be a fun update of the wacky Teen Beach Movies made famous by Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon in the '60s.
HSM was a surprise hit, but took itself way too seriously and tried to be the next "Grease", or "Hair Spray" and as a result ran itself and any goodwill it might have had into the ground.

Everyone is comparing HSM and TBM, but other than them both being musicals, I don't think they can really be compared.
Keep Calm and Love Supernatural
For me, it would be hard not to compare the two. When watching Teen Beach Movie I heard many of the same melodic phrases, harmonies, and chord changes as in High School Musical. I didn't have a problem with that, and in fact I would have enjoyed it except for the fact that the songs were much weaker in TBM. The one song I liked was "Like Me." The opening harmonies were gorgeous, and the beat, riff, and melody were great — it's the one song I bought.
