WTF? Its not just you. This film IS too frikkin vague for its own good.
An imdb user as put it succinctly.
"The film is too subtle for its own good when nobody understands what on earth it was about."
It was about how a woman's genes got her daughter presumably raped and killed. Pretty much what the subtext is.
