in Dragons TV series, their relationship is the most wanted set peace I wait.
Apparently we have to wait for season 4 or 5 because season 3 is over no relationship between them.

Their perfect relationship in How to Train Your Dragon is nowhere to be found on this show. I keep getting more and more disappointed for every season. Where is Hiccup's loyalty to Astrid? He only had eyes for her in Dean's canon.

Hiccup doesn't like anyone else. Look up Dean DeBlois interviews, Hiccup has been faithful to Astrid for all the five years between the movies. He has only ever had feelings for her, that is Dean's canon, the truth and the fact.
What this show does is imply Hiccup is an emotionally disloyal and fickle person. Not just to Astrid but also Toothless and the rest of his friends. It's the reason why many are not very fond of this Hiccup. He is not Hiccup like. In movie canon universe, he is fully faithful and dependable. What this show does is imply something incorrect just to later reveal that it definitely isn't true at all. That's what annoys me. Otherwise there is nothing on this show that proves Dean's canon wrong. Hiccup hasn't expressed romantic interest in anyone but Astrid, even on this show. If anything this show is probably going to reaffirm that in the last episode just to match up to Dean's canon. What annoys me are the implications, they not even directly from Hiccup but from they way the episodes are written. They even made Astrid disloyal to Hiccup when she lied to Hiccup. I don't like it.
Hiccstrid in the movies are not perfect, they are healthy and honest. I prefer that over stupid love triangles and cheating any day. Those type of romances end up making everyone look bad and cheapen the relationship for forever. Hiccstrid in the movies was a pleasant surprise!
I find their relationship more interesting in this series. Their relationship is too perfect in the movies. It's more interesting when Hiccup kind of likes someone else. Thats actually more realistic, at least to me.

The TV show has far more time then the first movie had to build up a relationship, a believeble relationship. Hiccup and Astrid are close friends and even feel maybe that there is something more between them, so why does everybody think that he ignores her or is even cheating on her?
Their relationship is one of the best I have seen in a long long time on tv, it starts as puppy love and then slowly developes further. And one of the reasons that they still don´t hang on each others lips is not only because they are still very young, but also because their characters are like that. Like you said -Hiccup is this kind hearted and gracious soul of person who would never force things and Astrid may be the more impulsive one in fights but when it comes to this kind of things she gets a bit shy herself
