Straight Edge

So basically, I want to start a discussion about the "Straight Edge" lifestyle. I want to know how you feel about the idea in general, and also what you think of Punk's use of it in his career.

I personally am straight edge, it was a decision I made at a very young age due to things in my own private life. I decided that was who I was before I even knew being straight edge was a thing, and certainly before Punk made it big time in the WWE.

My problem is basically, I see a lot of fans who call themselves "straight edge", but then they talk about how drunk or high they are... and I guess I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on that.

Are they calling themselves "straight edge" because they think they have to be to like Punk? And if so, do you think that's right? Or do you think that there are no rules as to who you can and cannot like due to your own personal views?

I feel like, you can like whoever you like, and that's that. I don't think you need to change your lifestyle just because you happen to be a fan of someone who chooses to not drink or use drugs.

I think Punk's use of it was amazing. It was a great way to get heat.

Even though I don't drink, have never done drugs, don't even drink coffee or coke, I don't consider myself straight edge.

Straight edge seems to have its own culture, fashion, icons, and even music. I don't subscribe to any of that.

I can't call myself straight edge anymore than I could call myself Jewish.

Can't stop the signal.
