I really liked the movie and don't understand the relatively low rating. It's a tense and psychological drama/thriller that holds up well.
shareI absolutelly agree, such a surprise that undeserved low rating. Besides the first five minutes, the movie was kind of a dark disturbing walk on the wild side. I can't understand people again; for me, some 7/7.5, a very good one, really.
shareI agree. And for once, it was a refreshing change to see the "victim" not be a simpering buffoon. Not everyone makes mistake after mistake when confronted with evil, as is so often depicted in film. That's just a storyteller's crutch. Some people actually think, and act, and persevere. And that doesn't have to detract from the drama.
Twice while watching, I thrust my arms in the air in a victory cheer: 1. at the end of the bar scene, and 2. immediately after the flip of the coin in the desert. An imperfect character can still be smart and tough. Good for the filmmakers.

I think one reason it has such a low rating is not many people have seen it. There are only 3 pages of comments, so yeah, kind of a sleeper.
