Never saw the movies. If they are anything like the books, I'd say the trilogy is Crappolla!

My friends love the books and the movies...
Well, it takes all kinds to make the world go round. The books were best sellers too. It is all a matter of opinion though. A coworker lent me the books last year, and I won't lie. I borrowed them because I was as curious as the next person.
I confess that I did learn a thing or two. π
I do have a problem with the writing style, which is amateurish. Of course, these books started out as Fan Fiction, so what can you expect?
There is this jealous little voice in my head though that says, "why can't any of the crap you have written turn into a best seller? Huh?????" π
I finally watched it... the first one...
Mediocre film... But i cen see the appeal of the material, for women... Beyond the obvious and cliche rich pretty boy scenario, it seems to be written, primarily, for the point if view of a middle aged/older woman.
The virgin thing doesn't work, it doesn't sit right. Neither does Anna finding Christian's obssessive stalking endearing (it would appeal more to an older or less attractive woman., not a younger one) But the idea of the sexual acts being solely for her pleasure, to allow her to experience her boundries safely, etc... Works, even for a younger woman..
The kink, the S&M stuff and such is seems more of an older woman fantasy as well... Although, being dominated probably has more universal appeal for women...
I found movies like "Unfaithfull" much more compelling... And much better made as well...
