Last season, I don't think I was even aware of the eventual winner til three-quarters through the competition. She seemed to come out of nowhere.

Nah, they're setting up McKaylee for the win. Trinity almost went home this week and while she'll make top 3 it'll only be because Gianna is next on the chopping block and there's a remote chance JoJo will be the last to go which will at least get Trinity 3rd place.

They're being a bit smarter this year, they found JoJo who can actually dance but not well enough to ever win this comp so she's worth keeping around till near the end for ratings, then it's off to Pittsburg to start filming Dance Moms.

Kalani winning would be meaningless, her family doesn't need the money and she's already a Joffrey student so the scholarship would be worthless. She's in it for the PR so second place for her and probably at least 1 appearance on DM.

That'll just leave McKaylee who will get the win because it would mean something for her and she could use the scholarship too.

So basically what I already predicted last season, which is the oldest kid will win. Which is not surprising since they have more training, experience and strength. They're also better at learning faster.

Really they are just copying last years formula with a few modifications so ppl like me can't roast them over an open fire for their stupidity and easy to predict results. They picked a "cute kid" that can actually dance this time so no more filming "Asia" from the head up while clearling giving her a free pass week after week. Plus they stopped giving every kid a challenge win and are actually picking clear winners rather than blatantly manipulating who wins each challenge every week.

Course they are still making the same mistakes as last year, like giving their favs a free pass while calling out other ppl for lesser mistakes (for example Abby complimenting Kaylani for dancing without cheat shoes while clearly ignoring that she fell out of her turns).

Overall though I'll at least give the show a solid C (which is better than last years gigantic F) for at least appearing to be a real contest. It's still fake and manipulated but at least they stopped the blatant obvious stuff like sending home someone that clearly outdanced half the other ppl there or keeping dancers that can't actually dance around.
