So the kidnappers will continue using the parents...

...much throughout the season, although all of the parents are potential murderers, kidnappers, bombers, terrorists etc etc. This is a very very stupid plot device, since they would only have to lock / secure all the parents as suspects -they have a seriously probable cause and they can do that- and ... case solved. I realise that would kill the show but it is impossible to suspend your disbelief when you think all the time "Why don't they just do that? No-one thought about it?" All the parents are seriously compromised and since the authorities are well aware that all parents would do anything to save their kids it is beyond stupid to let them roam freely.

well as tv tropes for the fbi/ss/ cia they are slow to realise this and so try and blindly run after each target one after the other, before they realise they're to slow so in ep4/ep5 they're going to threaten each parent and then tell them to fess up so they 'can help'.

Also its pretty obvious that the girl FBI agent with the daughter no one knows about will at some point be asked to do something or her daughter will die

Since no one knows she is her daughter why would they ask her to do something? Unless it leaks out.

gibson imho was dropping hints that he does know.

You can't lock up those with Diplomatic immunity, not to mention the President, members of Congress etc... And the kidnappers would then start sending the kids' body parts bit by bit.

But if it were real, there'd be at least a major constitutional crisis i.e. the 25th amendment would be invoked, and the VP would take over during the crisis.

Plus at least one parent would/should refuse obeying the kidnappers esp now that a parent got killed

And the idea that regular traffic cops can just stop FBI agents investigating the most famous hostage situation ever is preposterous.

So yes, there are plot holes, but it's still pretty entertaining imho. Can't be worse than "Hostages" :-)

LOL:) Again, I'm one who LOVED Hostages. I found it much more interesting then Crisis. I'm enjoying Crisis but those kids get on my nerves and its a big part of the series.

Oh, sorry:-) I really hated Hostages, even though I wanted to like it.

I agree with you about the Kids: I'm not interested much in the dynamics between them e.g. can't see why/how the Girl flirting with the teacher even fits in the plot. I can't even tell them apart:-) Am guessing it's a trick to attract younger audiences (those who'd watch 90210, or whatever it is teens watch these days).

Maybe because she's the daughter of agent Dunn ? Hee hee !!

reply

Oh I agree, nothing is worse than Hostages.
But I'm quite sure the diplomatic immunities in that case could be cancelled, and/or the parents themselves would realise the danger and willingly "surrender" to the authorities.
