Bullying by young girls (spoilers)

I recently watched Trapped (a Scandanavian TV show) in which an 8 (or so) year old girl was bullying a boy about not having a dad just like the niece was bullying the Babadook kid in the tree house. The boy in Trapped ran out into a fierce snowstorm and the little girl and her sister ran out to find him. Of course, all the adults freaked and had to go out and find all the kids. Now in this movie, the niece is pushed out of the tree house and it's the boys fault. Neither show dealt with the underlying cause which is the young girls bullying the young boys because they didn't have a dad and were 'weird'. Granted that's not what either the show or the movie is about but both boys are young and lashing out at someone who was being hateful. Had both girls been nice to the boys nothing would have happened yet neither of the girls' parents dealt with the cause - that their daughter was being a bitch. They only lashed out at the boy for 'what he did'. Not very good parents.
