Writers clueless about the effects of LSD

First of all if you took LSD you'd know you'd taken something. And secondly LSD doesn't cause the kinds of hallucinations depicted in this film.

I can cause all sorts of hallucinations and is different for everyone.

Well more correctly, the hallucinations would not be of a 'group' kind since LSD does not connect people psychically and the writers failed to point out whose hallucinations we were seeing and the hallucinations the others were experiencing.

Also the 'it was low grade LSD' comment is suspicious. Even at 100 micrograms the drug is powerful. The bag in the water jug contained many LSD 'acid stamps' and they would have been under the drug's influence for quite some time.
LSD hallucinations can be quite real. A friend of mine in the seventies killed his wife with a shotgun while on an LSD trip thinking she was a monster. He tried later as he came off the drug to commit suicide and only managed to blow his lower jaw off. Sad.

One of my favorite things about LSD is the 'group affect' it can cause. I can give you two examples from my very own experience. The first being at the beach in Florida and dropping with 3 friends and we all witnessed a large green eel-like dragon creature come out of the water and look at us. We all screamed and pointed at the same time and described the same thing. Also, whenever I take acid with a group and we go around people I like to comment that some people look like 'The Far Side' characters and then suddenly the others see it too. After that, everyone walking around us looks like cartoon characters with exaggerated features.
