No credit for H.G.?

Shame that amongst the hundreds of names in the credits, there was no room for any mention of H.G. Wells, without whom this movie would never have existed, whereas Joe Pearson (no, me neither) managed to get his name on the screen about half a dozen times.

How will we ever know who to credit for the War of th Worlds concept if Wells isn't named?!
