I want to watch it. Netflix has a Canadian category and has a lot of Canadian made films, you'd think this would be on there already.

I got the DVD from Netflix. Perhaps your problem is that you looked for it only under the Canadian category?

There's no DVD option from Canada. The shows/films are either there to stream or not.

Wow, you're right. That stinks. Have you tried options other than Netflix? For example, it shows as being buyable from itunes (although pricey). I definitely see a Canadian release date online.

Also, the entire film is currently available free on Youtube, if your morals permit.

I got it from my local library. It's a cute little 🇨🇦 movie. 
