Why, oh why...

did the film makers put Capt. Alan Bean in between two "lunar" nuts in the opening, making it seem like he was just as crazy for saying he had been there!?! Not until 23 minutes in did they show he was indeed the 4th man on the moon and his art is breathtaking. If you haven't I recommend you Google him or go to AlanBeanGallery.com to see his work and his very positive outlook on life! And if you're able to see many of his works at Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum count yourself lucky! His paintings are enormously expensive and sought after, even prints are going for a couple of thousand now! His art is unbelievably beautiful with moon dust, bits of flown LEM & his uniform along with boot prints and tool marks make the foundation of his canvases so that when you see a painting you get a full historical piece! I cannot yet buy a painting and unfortunately if he dies before I do they will always be out of my reach but I do own a few prints and a load of memorabilia as he is my favorite astronaut. I take it all to middle schools and gladly share in hopes of lighting the fire amongst the age group who will take us to Mars one day!!

Meeting Capt. Bean in person, hearing him speak at a lecture and seeing his works up close has been a major highlight of my life! I hope he lives as long as he wishes so he can keep showing us the glories of space and the need to keep exploring!
