What I think happened at the end... (***Possible Spoilers!)

First I just gotta say, WoW! What an amazing movie. Brilliantly acted in my humble opinion but let's talk about the ending. Since it was in Hebrew and Arabic I've had to reply on whoever created the English subtitles that I watched and hope that they got them right. Here's what I think happened.

When the Israeli soldiers were at Nimer's home in Raballah, the secret police guy (A) said to the soldier (B):

(A) Search everywhere. I want the brother.
(B) What has happened?
(A) They know he's gay, his life is at risk.
(B) They'll kill him for the family honor.
(A) Keep me posted when you find him.

Now coming from the secret service agent it seems to me that he didn't want to hurt Nimer and he showed concern that something bad could happen to him which he was trying to prevent. So for me, the key is the line "They know he's gay, his life is at risk".

Now the conversation which took place at the police station between Ray (A) and the secret service guy (B):

(A) Nimer is no longer a problem for you, I give you my word on that! He's no longer wandering in Tel Aviv, preparing a hypothetical attack, OK? He'll never come back here.
You can close the Mashrawi case permanently!

(B) Close the Mashrawi case permanently? Should I also thank you for this?
***This makes me think the case is actually closed in the mind of the secret service guy.

(B) Schaefer, you crossed our red lines here. You had to chose between us or them, and you have chosen them! I'll bury you alive in a jail! And this time, neither your dad nor his connections will be able to help you. I wish you a lovely day!

Now I'm sure not everyone will agree with my take on this but I believe the secret service guy was miffed because Roy outsmarted him and so he was pissed off which is why he said what he said. I just got a feeling he did NOT send the coast guard after Nimer and in my mind, the grumpy cop didn't send Roy to goal cause what did Roy actually do? Help a person that the cop implied was innocent anyways?

So in the end, Nimer arrives in France and Roy's there with a bunch of flowers, they kiss and live happily ever after.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents and no, you can't have it.

I hope you're right. I didn't understand the policeman at the end either. First he's worried because his family will kill him, but then he calls him just another f-g---t. Wish I could ask the writer what his intention was. Otherwise its just another 'downer' ending that says gays can never find happiness ans there are too many of those already.

Life sucks, then you're reincarnated

I didn't interpreted it as concern about his well-being, them knowing he is gay. I thought the secret service guy just thought Nimer felt like he had nothing to lose, which made him a bigger threat.

I would like to believe that's what happened, but at the end I felt as if Roy would take the blame for all this. I did feel Nimr made an escape successfully on the yacht, but the officer from the security police basically told Roy he was going to make things very difficult and even his father could not save him. I did not get the feeling that Roy and Nimr would be together in the end. It made me sad.
