If an AI wanted to destroy humanity it would also destroy the very infrastructure it needs to live, it would be a very stupid AI to do that and as we can see in the first half of the first episode it's very selective about it's targets so it's not stupid...

After watching it...its (the AI) actions are explained in the episode as being curious or defensive, not evil by default...

The AI has no concept of time as we have it, it can afford to be 'stored' in a secure data center until we rebuild our infrastructure.

any small semblance of logic in this show was utterly destroyed when the fbi agent not only survived a cyanide gas attack but was wandering around totally unharmed afterwards sorry no way in hell could that happen
