If someone could be so kind as to explain to me what went down in the final battle between Walter and David, as it seems to me that when last we saw them together, Walter had the upper hand in the fight. Then next thing you know (which we guessed as soon as we saw his face scars) David emerges. Am I remembering this correctly? It has been a while but this has bugged me a bit and I would appreciate it clarified :)

Actually when David emerges they tried to make it as ambiguous as possible to the audience because last we saw, David was reaching for a knife just as Walter was moving in with a final punch to finish him off. So when David emerges, it could be Walter because he has those face scars where it was easy to imagine David inflicting those scars on Walter if he had grabbed the knife as depicted and cut his face before Walter finished him off.
Plus they clearly showed David without his hand, trying to lead the viewer on as much as possible that it was actually Walter.
Regardless, it was still so obviously David because they didn't actually show the Walter-David fight resolution and instead cut away from it to leave the audience hanging. So it should have been obvious to anyone with a brain that it was David that was going to wipe that ship out while pretending he was Walter.
I thought it was kind of weak that given the remarkable super android upgrades Walter had demonstrated already over the David model, Walter should have beat him handily.
Ok thank you so much, I must have simply missed David reaching for the knife, but that makes perfect sense.
I totally agree it was very weak, that's why I was confused because Walter literally had just mentioned the upgrades so how the hell did David dispatch him with a knife? Unless he just incapacitated him long enough to escape.

Yep, impossible to doubt it. We had just witnessed how Walter could heal like the Wolverine almost, and since the survived android was cut and in his fact, bleeding and that we got this whole scene where he stapled himself together .... they were just screaming it out loud. They should have kept us guessing to the end.
