What did David bring into the ship inside of him? Those little egg things. Was he going to continue he's freaky experiments with those colonists?

share Oddly enough after rewatching the film I noticed that the cryo trey David places the face hugger in is the same one walter removed the bad embryo from at the beggining of the film. I even suspect david placed the face hugger more or less in the slot that was occupied by the bad deformed embryo.

At the end of the film is the shot of the face hugger embryo incase you actually missed it.

David and Walter are manipulating the same cryo try. Its located in Cryobay 22 and the tray is the 2nd from the bottom.

Unless this is a bad example of using the same props for what are supposed to be different locations in the ship my suspicion is in the original script David is supposed to remove remove the bad embro before switching it with the face hugger embryo but in editing the scenes were split and reshot with Walter removing the bad embryo in order to show the audience there was an embryo chamber so as to provide a chekovs gun early in the plot otherwise the audience would be all "Where did those embryos come from".

Those pics were helpful. Interesting, you might right about the editing and reshots of those scenes involving Walter and David dealing with the embryos. I don't remember the scene from the beginning where Walter removes the bad embryo. I really need to watch this again once the bluray is out.
share Walter removes the bad embryo after he checks on danials and the captains cryo pod. He literally just walks about 30 feet and opens the cryobay doors with a security code. You can see the crew cryopods in the shot where he approaches the emcryo chamber behind door 22. you can see one of the crew cryobeds at the lower right of the cryo_22.png as the door 22 is opening. At the end David does the same thing after pulling his "Don't let the bed bugs bight" implying he's going to infect her in her sleep he even reports on the radio that she died during the nutrino burst. he walks 30 feed just like david then opens cryobay door 22 and places 2 eggs. in the freezer. The same freezer from the begining. Its like how did he know to open as if it was pure chance. How did he get another security code that gave him access. Did he probe walters circuits?
Come to think of it how do nutrinos cause that much damage. Nutrinos are so small they varely interact with matter at all and were nearly undetectable. As a matter of fact its so hard to be hit by these nearly massless particles. They are more harmless then photons and electrons which can do a lot of damage due to their electrical charge where as just about every nutrino to strike the earth passes right through it with out interacting with any of earths mass. This is why they are so hard to detect (they don't disturb anything) and scientist had a hard time proving they exists. They originally only suspected there existence when their equations coudln't account for the infintesimal mass loss when they observed some particles colliding with each other. We only first saw evidence of one in the 1970s indirectly when on tapped a photon
Maby a gamma burst or actual Neutron radiation showed have been scripted to cause the damage to the solar sails. Nutrinos interact so infrequently with anything no wonder people debated their their existence. They nearly impossible to obsertve let alone destry solar sails and starships.
The bad embryo is just some foreshadowing.
