Question about David SPOILER

Saw this do not know much about prometheus, was David a good protagonist character in prometheus?

reply

It wasn't clear if he was evil, or just following orders. But he did some bad stuff.

reply

Ridley Scott wouldn't call him evil, but I do.

David exposed his crew to the Alien in Prometheus, performed horrible experiments on the person who cared about him (Shaw) and repaired him, and eventually killed her, then proceeds to perform more experiments and exposes the Covenant crew to them yet again. He's certainly not a good synthetic, he's quite twisted and evil--and will be back for more.

reply

You bring up some great points two questions from that, Did you think David was evil at the end of Prometheus before seeing Covenant? and why did they kill Shaw off of camera basically and not really have her appear in Covenant?

reply

Oh absolutely, after all it was David that infected his fellow crewmember onboard the Prometheus after their first venture into the engineer ruins.. I was like :0 are the trying to make him worse than Ash? Why not another Bishop?

I was sad that Shaw's fate is never shown on camera, but if the rumors of the next Alien taking place between Prom and Cov, that means she and David will probably get their wrapup story.

reply

I think the only good artificial person in the Alien series was Bishop.
Here David turns out to be particularly evil, but due to the misteachings
and abuse from his "father".

There are some interesting themes here, it's just that the movie, and
particularly Prometheus, is so damn stupid.
