The Celtic/Ranger game was impossible!! I was in two different days between setting off to see it and actually seeing it. I was dead by the end of it and had to look up the result the following day/later that day depending on which timezone you take as the one I was in when I wrote that. It was a win though and so I suppose I should be happy

Americans are 10 times more likely to be killed by guns, than people in other developed countries. Compared to 22 other high-income nations, the US' gun-related murder rate is 25 times higher. And I guess I'm too influenced by the shootings by cops lately, which is just awful, and social media doesn't make it easier, in fact they make it much worse. Okay, rant; Sweden was involved in WWII, in a particularly and very unflattering way. So, yet another short historical briefing; In 1940, the Germans attacked and occupied Denmark and Norway. Hitler feared and at the same time wanted to prevent an Allied invasion of North Norway, (and possibly northern Sweden) in order to cut off the German access to Swedish iron ore.
When Norway had fallen, Sweden had two choices; either to speak up against the Germans and the risk of war, or to become a more or less vassal state. They hadn't much to say really, with the small army they had at the time. So, the Swedish government gave up. Which practically meant, that we let the Nazis to transport their troops by rail to Norway through Sweden. We also allowed the transport of weapons and other supplies for the soldiers. It was about one train/day from Germany to Norway for three years, a total of 2.1 million Germans went through Sweden. 100,000 truckloads of weapons also went through.
I'm actually surprised that you didn't find something that pointed to that Sweden by then ran a "relatively" *cough* German-friendly policy, which obviously wasn't liked by everyone. This was shown in newspapers and magazines as protests. And because of that, Sweden introduced a censorship (1941) and the government could seize and stop things that could be perceived as propaganda against Nazi Germany. This was - and still is - nothing but extremely embarrassing for Sweden. There're still, especially among the surviving Norwegians, who hold grudges, and Sweden is often criticized for this and for the cowardice which I actually understand too well. But it was like choosing between plague or cholera. Still damned embarrassing.

It's almost impossible to answer you how I would react. But in hindsight, after so many wars that have taken place during the last century, I'm not really sure. Given what I know about soldiers' deeds, it's particularly difficult to speak about it to you, but you asked.
The Germans weren't the least interested in "occupy" Swedes per se, they were only interested in the iron ore. 50% of German iron ore came by boat from Sweden, in order to maintain the German steel production. And Hitler treated Sweden with kid gloves throughout the war because of that.
But of course I would welcome them if the scenario wasn't the same, as it was during for example WWII, or the Vietnam War. But the thing is, it's not that easy and it's far from the truth. If the US troops would just come and liberate our country, I'd be very grateful. But in all honesty, you've got more guns than people in the US. Americans are 10 times more likely to be killed by guns, than people in other developed countries. Compared to 22 other high-income nations, the US' gun-related murder rate is 25 times higher.
