When I watched this film, I couldn't understand the whole part of the conversation between Una and Ray/Peter, where he says that he was wearing shorts, and his erection would have shown up, and that people get to know the truth when they see someone frequently close to someone else, that there were 15 people in the party, etc.

What exactly he was arguing about or trying to say?
