Did the male and female leads got married after 13 years?

Did the male and female leads got married after 13 years? I got the impression that they did not as the professor introduces Ms. Kaguya as significant companion, so I am not sure if they officially got married.

My wife, who is Japanese, said they used the not so common way of saying the word for spouse 'haigusha'. Translation wasn't that great according to her.

that's "spouse" so I was a bit surprised as well, it sounds too formal...but they are lexiconerds aren't they? That explains a bit.;-)
