A girl as Robin: Brilliant

I really like the idea of having Robin being a girl. The outfit suits a girl much more than a boy/guy. Robin's outfit on a guy just looks too feminine/faggy. But on a girl, she looked really good.

I'd love to see them focus more on Robin and make her a more detailed and intriguing character. I know that a lot of people are stuck with the image of a sissy robin akin to toto or something like that. But I saw a much more admirable, intriguing, and interesting Robin with some serious physical talent and skills to be more than just a sidekick to Batman but even better.

I was even thinking that Robin could be some sort of genetically engineered superhuman (much like a captain america) as the future seems like it's about mutants and super human hybrids.... plus, it would fit better with all the other "superhuman" heroes as a "normal" human in reality just couldn't cut it as a superhero.

Robin should be gifted with supernatural strength, speed, and healing (much like a spiderman type).

In Frank Miller's sequel The Dark Knight Strikes Again (aka DK2) a sixteen year-old Carrie is reintroduced as Catgirl. And, no, she doesn't have special powers or abilities--just lots of training.

I can't really recommend the graphic novel, but if you want to check it out then I suggest using your local library.

You can't recommend the graphic novel? You mean Dark Knight Returns? The comic that completely changed comic books forever after?

DKR is a phenomenal book with some killer lines, decent social commentary and satire, and some really great ideas that - as you said - were extremely influential in the development of Batman comics.

I don't know that it completely changed comics forever after. Watchmen was same era; I think that had more impact in re-writing creative minds' ideas of comics.

This movie made me think of Robin as a transgender social justice warrior haha. I really liked the gender undertones of this movie :D

There was another female Robin named Stephanie Brown after the comic of this was written.
