Everyone except Clancy Brown...

was horrendously miscast.

Kate Bosworth and Winona Ryder as methed up hoebags
James Franco as a backwoods cook scumbag named gator??
Frank Grillo as a psycho biker (well he pulled it off but wouldn't have been my first choice)

and no way Jason Statham, doing no part to hide his accent, would ever fit in as an undercover operative
In a biker gang.

Clancy Brown as the sheriff seemed to be the only fit.

Yes, but Clancy fits everywhere. He's the Kurgan, dammit.

Yes, I agree. Although, I thought Kate Bosworth did a great job. She was skinny. What's up with that? I wanted to take her to Pizza Hut everyday for the next 3 years.

Clancy Brown is always awesome!! Very underrated actor. Just watched Carnivale on HBO on demand. Awesome show that got cancelled way too early.

There was not much to work with.

As soon as the drugged up rednecks start dropping like flies, anybody with some braincells left would have run away.

But no, as soon the storm trooper syndrome kicks in, everybody is running around and still antagonizing the guy with dumb behavior. Do you really think stealing his daughter is the way to survive the night?

I can't see how any other cast would have made the movie better. It was directToDVD fare, and I only watched it for Jason.

Gotta love Clancy. The part of the film that most made me sit up and take notice was his line to Statham the second time he pulled him over: "You have got my attention, son."
