Teenage girls in control.
The whole movie shows us a coming of age story that's really intense and well done. Kudos to the director. It also portrays teenage girls as the ultimate power to control men.
Men surrender to them easily if they ask for sex. "Oh, no, I am working". "We are in 427". "OK, I´ll be there".
Another one: "I can't kiss you, I'm with my girlfriend". "So what, she won´t see us". Next scene: they're kissing and more.
So it happens with the boat guy and, of course... [no spoilers]
Both girls show sexual power to achieve their goals of fun, fulfillment and joy. There is no romantic, serious love in here.
Now, is this a realistic approach from the filmmakers? I think so. Well done.
