So, is Nancy Webb a con artist???

I was reading, while also watching Ep. 3.5 of the show out of the corner of my eye, and caught the Selfridge Estate architect and Nancy Webb talking as though they may be scheming con artists. Have I missed anything that hinted at this before?

I didn't see this coming at all! Harry must be losing it to have fallen under the spell of a grifter. But she IS good -- I wouldn't have guessed she's shady in a million years!

I wonder if she's an agent of Lord Loxley, since he's so hellbent on destroying Harry?

It's on Youtube and I watched ahead. I shouldn't have. You'll be disappointed by the outcome. I know that I was.

Uh oh. Okay, thanks for the heads up b73142.

You're welcome. I actually liked them together.

Well, she DID try to resist getting emotionally involved with him, so that's something. Too bad she gave in cuz that'll make it all the more bitter for Mr. S.

I had heard a bio of Selfridge and he made a lot of bad financial decisions after he bought the store. I guess this is one of them, as well-intentioned as it was.

I watched ahead and I think that she did fall in love with him. I don't think that she wanted to, but she couldn't help herself.

Nancy falls in love with Harry and STILL cons him out of all that money????

Oh I hope not!

You'll have to watch and see. There are only 4 episodes left.

Wikipedia has information about upcoming episodes if you can't wait to find out.

It's also on Youtube if you don't want to wait.

Yes she is a con artist. And hurray to the princess for figuring that out.

I kinda like the outcome of that: she still loves him and he tells her off.
Or more precisely: i think it is rather stupid that a wooldyed grifter would so easily fall in love with a mark (to the point of leaving her brother and dreaming of marriage), but i did absolutely love his reaction of 'of course i do not love you, how could i, you are not the person i thought you were'.

Her brother is the worst 'con artist' ever. Ask him a single question and he absolutely shatters. Aside from having no charm or likability, which as I understand it, is quite pivotal to being a successful con artist.

Aside from that, she's just as annoying and vapid as all the other characters on the show. I'm so glad I caught up with it and can finally move on to other, not awful shows.

I thought it funny that she's played by Kelly Adams who played Emma Kennedy in Hustle.

When she said her real name is Emily and she's a grifter, I laughed. I wonder if she's Emma's great grandmother!
