I actually really enjoyed this film.

Not a fan of vampire flick but this was well done and captured my attention really well. Kudos fellas for putting something together that I'll definitley tell others about ?

I did too. I thought he was turning into some kind of animal-human hybrid at first. Wasn't expecting vampire.

I enjoyed this movie right up until the point where Derek kills Clif, blows his brains out and comes back. It was a movie of two halves.

Up to (around) the 45 minute mark, for me, it was very good; Maybe a 7 or 8. From that point onward I found the dynamic changed for the worse (For obvious reasons). Had this been a 45 minute short I would have rated it a 7, probably.

The movie taken as a whole... I only felt it worthy of a 6. That's how dull I found the second half.

Care to elaborate as to why?

I enjoyed it!
I love movies that take a hard turn in the middle ( a la from dusk til dawn, dog soldiers)
It was good "video" movie. There are a lot out there and this is one of the better ones.
So what, the not being able to kill yourself is not believable. We get stuck on what is real and not real and forget to let the movie take you on a journey. You know how many movies have fantasy stories? All vampires, werewolves, comic book hero, etc movies are fantasy.
Just chill and enjoy the story for what it is.

I also thought it was really cool. The effects especially were brilliant throughout - they looked impressively real for such a small budget, the story was pretty much believable and never lumbered, the acting was good as were the characters, it even had a really good ending and cool credits scene, these guys did a awesome job with this one.

I really enjoyed it as well. I knew absolutely nothing about this film going into it and really had no clue what was happening to him until they brought up the whole vampire angle in the film. Even when he started to get super strength, I just didn't catch on and I have to give props to the filmmakers for that aspect of the film as it winds up completely changing the direction of the film, at least for me it did, and I love films that are able to pull that move off successfully. I just wasn't expecting this to be a vampire film at all. I figured it was some crazy disease or something.

Anyways, I thought the story was well done and the acting was very good for this kind of film. In particular, I thought the action scenes towards the end with the SWAT guys was very well done, especially for handheld work. Yes, these kinds of "Blair Witch" films are a dime a dozen these days, but this film proves that they can still be enjoyable and creative in the right hands. I would rate this film a solid 7 out of 10. All in all the 2 main actors/directors should be commended for thier work on this film and I will definitely be keeping my eye on both of them to see what kind of project they do next.

Still Shooting With Film!

This film is entertaining and I enjoyed the different take on the vampire films of today; goodness, a storyline instead of soft porn! (I'm referring to unimaginative movies like the "Twighlight" series). No, the suspense of a film such as "The Room" is missing in Afflicted, yet the film is still smart and fun. That's what entertainment should be.
