**** SPOILERS ****

(Personally I hate that I even have to write "SPOILERS" I think every idiot should know that if you come to a message board on the most popular movie site in the world, that you should expect spoilers in the discussion thread. SPOILERS should be assumed, once you're this deep into the site. But for all the little wussies who don't get that and want to gripe, please don't read any of my posts. And go kill yourselves. Thanks.)

Anyway, i thought this was a brilliant, fresh take on at least a couple of genres. Vampires: this movie tells from the vampires perspective before they turn, which is awesome, and then it finds a way to make a typically evil character, and turn him into a superhero! I don't think I've ever seen vampire as superhero before. Found footage: POV of the supernatural character. too cool. it made the action look amazing. especially on such a superbly low budget.

this movie reminded me that a movie can be entertaining without all the trappings of planned lighting and cinematography, as long as the story is engaging and fresh. i am totally motivated to write something now that i can shoot with my GoPro, that way I'll spend all my time and effort making the story interesting and finding actors who can pull it off in an engaging way. everything else, is unnecessary, and this movie really proved that.

I'm giving it a 7 out of 10

I really liked it also and I gave it a 8. It was just different enough to hold my attention all the way thru. Derek Lee and Clif Prowse are great in this. Cudos to them both. I bet most of the budget money went to buy blood. Lol

Idiot? No.. I sometimes like to come on before I see a movie or as I'm watching it..

Well, don't as it is unwise.

How is he a superhero?

reply

He decided to eat/kill pedophiles/rapists apparently.

Guess you missed Buffy/Angel. Angel and (spoiler) eventually Spike were more heroic than this guy. He's less superhero and more Dexter-the-Vampire.

I liked the movie, but vampire hero is hardly new.

I also enjoyed this film a lot. I was surprised by how good the story kept moving. It didn't just end with him killing his friend, it moved beyond that and showed some great action scenes that made my jaw drop especially when I read about the budget for this film. If these guys can make such a great film with $300,000 I can't wait to see what they can do with a million dollar budget. It's too bad this film didn't have a wide release, I think it would have done pretty well.

I initially scored the film 7/10 for how good the story and pacing was and later gave it a 8/10 because of how low the budget was and how good the special effects and action sequences were made.
