But holy cow this thing is like SUCH a compilation of so many different things. I'm only part way through the first episode of the first season and have detected the feels of 1) True Blood, 2) Being Human, and 3) Dark Shadows, all drenched with a sauce of blended music from Dexter/Twilight. It's hard to see this as something new when it feels like I've already seen it a million times. (Not to say the other three aren't similar, but I get a different vibe from each of those as opposed to this, which kind of seems like a bkit of a *whispers* rip off of all of them. Maybe of like some old fairytales too (i.e. Little Red Riding Hood). If I'm supposed to be looking at this from a new perspective, I don't think it's going to happen.

Disagree with the first 2... as for Dark shadows, don't know enough of that series to make a comparison. Aside from the difference in over-all style, Hemlock Grove has a very understating, subdued feel to it. True Blood is anything but subdued... & I don't see Being Human in it too, neither US or UK.
