Turning on the wrong moon

Ok in season 1 Peter said when you turn on a wrong moon theres consequences and that he had to give something, and it turned out to be his face. Ok he lets the Vargulf tear his face off.

But now in season 2 he's shifted like 3 or 4 different times without there being a full moon and not had to give anything. I mean he got real sore and the whole Vargulf thing was kicking in but why did he have to sacrifice his face in season 1 to turn yet nothing in season 2?

Thats what i love about these high school girls, i get older they stay the same age.

I think the first time he did it, it was the right way, to avoid becoming a Vargulf. It takes longer and he has to make a sacrifice, but he won't have the consequences.

In season 2, he sacrifices nothing, and so he has consequences. He starts becoming a vargulf.
