Do these writers do anything but look at a map when picking locations to reference. I live in Pottstown and can confirm that there is indeed no Croatian gang dealing in stolen goods. In fact if be amazed if there were more than 20 actual Croatians in the entire region. Boy meets world did the same thing with the hole of the worlds best apple pie

shareThese sorts of problems only come up when someone from that region or specific town view the series. They know better in practise, but naturally the scriptwriters of the show have taken some artistic freedoms and placed a Croatian criminal gang into Pottstown whether or not it is true or not.
It is artistic freedom first and foremost. Someone from the town might disagree with this view, but for the rest of us foreigners watching the show it doesn't really matter if there truly are Croatian gangs operating in Pottstown or not. We buy it.
Oh, for goodness sake! It’s been established from Day One that Hemlock Grove is in western Pennsylvania. They needed to have bad guys in a nearby town. Period.
