good movie

surprisingly brutal, Robert Duvall is great

reply

Absolutely one of his worst ever. Period.

reply

Certainly wasn't "brutal" either.

Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: A wrong decision is better than indecision.

I loved it too, a really great movie, 8 out of 10 for me!! These trolls saying it's horrible still live in their parents basement and jerk off to pics of dead animals....

This movie was a mess.
The deaths don't fit with the feel-good tone of the story.
It looked like it was made for the Lifetime channel

Yes, the film was a bit untidy, and as I said in another post, the new "Gus McCrae" was just too flawed a character to really cheer for. Still, worth one watch for the pleasure of seeing Mr. Duvall at work again.

at the moment i give it a Thumbs Up. but... only barely. ill have to see how it is on a re-watch as it might lose a bit of it's appeal on a re-watch though for me as movies that can't hold up on re-watches (or are movies i won't care to see again) ultimately get a Thumbs Down.

6.5-7/10 (a mild thumbs up) ; but like i said above, it might lose a bit of it's spark on a re-watch and could shift back to a 6/10 for me which would be a Thumbs Down.
