Excellent film but......
...they should've had more about Sound City and less about Grohl and friends in his studio playing with the board he bought. Don't get me wrong, mind you...SC and it's rich legacy of music is an absolute mind blower when you realize how many albums were recorded there, but what about the aftermath? What about the people that worked there and called the place their home? What happened to them when SC finally shut down? How are their lives today and were any of 'em able to find work someplace else? It seems that David Grohl kinda sorta sidestepped the issue in the second half of the film.....instead of following up on the SC crew he concentrated on how cool it was to own the board that'd made all those hit records and how many musicians he could get to come over and play with his new toy etc etc...Yeah buddy we know all about how much it meant to you n' all that, but could you at least tell a bit more of it's story and a little less of the neat guitar players n drummers n piano players n old school rockers you knock around with?
