Passable for an episode of "The Outer Limits"...

This possibly would have been an okay episode of The Outer Limits, but it fails as a movie. The writing falls flat. The characters feel fake. Most of the acting is cardboard (with the possible exception of the leading lady).

The biggest problem with this production is that the writer doesn't have a clue how anything works in the real world; not in academia, not in finance, not in the world of street crime, nor in romance. It takes more than being an avid science fiction nerd to write good science fiction. If anybody knows the writer, pass it on.

I give this a 5/10 with a 7 being the good/bad threshold... and I'm being generous.
