S5E16 - That's one messed up Judith...

Willing to kill her own family... Sort of conflicted with Aethelred though since it seemed he didn't want to kill his brother yet after his wife was laughing at the though of the death of his brother he sort of gave off a smirk or a grin. In his last dying breath he said, "What kind of mother are you?" which leads me to believe he wasn't going to even attempt to kill his brother anymore and was just waiting it out for his own sickly demise. Then again he treated his mom badly after whispering to the priests so meh, offed him good. If Alfred dies soon thereafter, she'll be the sole heir which would weaken the throne even further and maybe Aethelred's wife will seek revenge. Oh the endless backstabs. That along with the constant side switching the Ragna brothers seem to be doing.

She is obsessively(?) committed to supporting Alfred and feels she has to play a tough game to protect him, but I think she is also afraid for her life - if Alfred dies she is somewhat exposed directly to the intrigue of court and those who would happily dispatch her if she spoke out of turn (I recall the punishment of her right ear being cut off for the transgression she made a few years ago of adultery).

Alfred won't die, he lives as a sick king for about another 30 years
