Asia didn't deserve to death

She was beautiful, had nice skin, and feet. She was an herbalist.

AND I KNOW EVERYONE IS HAPPY NOW.

I'm not.

The way this show's love interests were from Season 2 until now are just terrible.

I will never forget you, Asia.

reply

Deserve has got nothing to do with it.

reply

Well, Ragnar won't be happy, once withdrawal kicks in. Bet she didn't mention that as a reason for using it sparingly.

reply

To be fair, he did not even really give her a chance.

Asia didn't deserve to death

That. . . . that's not even a real sentence.

WORDS MEAN THINGS! Also, before you come to bitch about a plot hole, rewatch the show/movie.

reply

Technically, it is a sentence, just one that’s grammatically incorrect. He’s using a noun as a verb.

Oh, screw incorrect! It’s just fucked up!

She joins a pretty big club.

This is not the show for those who tend to feel sympathy towards characters. It is, after all, about a group of folks who kill and loot for a living.

reply

I root for Rollo because he protects people from the folks who kill and loot for a living.

Ironic, since he used to do the same thing.

Scifi, what does this even mean? A man can't reform? A person is locked in their whole life and can't turn over a new leaf? Do you really think it's right to hang a person's past around their neck and never even acknowledge when they change and become a better person? That doesn't even make sense. A lot of people have to work on becoming better people, take your thinking to its logical conclusion and no one would ever get a second chance. What does it matter what Rollo used to do, now that he's doing better because he wants to protect his family and his new country?

Sure, but its still ironic( "happening in the opposite way to what is expected"), how he detested Athestan so much to practically become a christian himself

It's very ironic. It's also ironic that Rollo was a Viking who became a Christian and protects Christians against Vikings, while Athelstan was a Christian who became a Viking and planned raids against Christians and even killed a monk on a raid. Nevertheless, Rollo has become a most sincere Christian and now he protects the innocent people from the bad guys. He's even got the mercy part down, because he spared Ragnar and the Vikings and let them leave France. Very different to Ragnar, getting back to the original topic, who drowned his drug dealer in front of his children.

😕 Rollo was never kidnapped violently fron his home, his Family killed(The other monks) and made a slave and than trotted around a "Leash" etc. . Rollo and athelstan's situations are vastly different and incomparable.

In fact I rememeber, When Rillo was captured by ecbert, Athelstan went to see if he was ok, and told him he would reunite him with him family......and than Rollo threatened to kill him...again. LOL

Oh, come now, Scifi. You can't expect to say that a comparison between Rollo and Athelstan is not valid because they are not a perfect match in every way. The salient point is that both men were Christians. Athelstan started out as a Christian and abandoned his faith to become a Viking. Rollo started out as a Viking and abandoned that life to become a Christian. That is ironic, and it is a valid comparison.

In fact I rememeber, When Rillo was captured by ecbert, Athelstan went to see if he was ok, and told him he would reunite him with him family......and than Rollo threatened to kill him...again.
Almost. Rollo had every reason at that point to believe Athelstan had betrayed Ragnar and the Vikings. He didn't know why Athelstan was suddenly with the English, and he didn't know that Athelstan had saved his life, so I don't think Rollo can be blamed for wanting to kill Athelstan at that point in time.

reply

Indeed- Rollo went into his new situation voluntarily while monk Athelstan did not. Apples and oranges.

reply

Wow, you really don't get the concept of two men with the same religion, do you? How can you say apples and oranges when it's Christian and Christian? That makes no sense.

Yep, Just don't ask him questions like: Is it time to retreat?

reply

I root for Rollo because I discovered that he's in my family tree. Forget all those other guys.

GREAT quote,

reply

Thank you...I also enjoyed the movie. Although I preferred "Tombstone"...Unforgiven was gritty and powerful. I have to admit though; I was rooting for Hackman's character.

She deliberately got the king of the Vikings addicted to a powerful drug. Then, when he came to her jonesing and demanding his fix, she tried to blackmail him with the darkest secret he had shared with her under the drug's influence.

Deserve it or not, she was definitely asking for it.

I'd've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids.
