Two crew men spotted pretending to be rowing with empty hands

Has anyone noticed that? Probably my first goof submitted to IMDB. We couldn't stop laughing.

I was curious what could have happened on the set, like, the paddle drowned in the see between cuts? :D

Take a close look at the last but one crew man at 38:32 and the last crew man (sitting backwards towards the camera) some 20 seconds later when Ragnar walks towards Ivar.

And they didn't have Ivar rowing either? With the upper body strength he's doubtlessly built up crawling around everywhere?

Ivar is terrified of the water. Could barely hold on. Making him row the boat seems unlikely.
