This movie vs Law Abiding Citizen (spoilers)

This movie reminded me of Law Abiding Citizen where Russell Crowe's character also lost his family in a home invasion and went on a revenge spree. in that movie Crowe's character tortures and kills the actual murderers and then goes after political leaders who allowed the criminals to go free. In that movie Jamie Foxx plays a district attorney character who has to stop Crowe.

I think the setup is similar to this movie. I sympathized with Crowe's character in that film and I did sympathize with Clinton Davis in this movie because he had just been killing criminals anyway, and the hit and run "victim" was really a pedophile who was about to kidnap and rape a little girl in the beginning of the movie so he did deserve to die. I only turned against Davis in the end when he tried to kill the DA's wife all of his previous victims deserved to die.

Russell Crowe? You mean Gerard Butler surely.

It was Gerard Butler, not Russell Crowe. But yeah, I thought of "Law Abiding Citizen" as well. When they talked about how he lost his wife and daughter in a home invasion, I immediately thought of Law Abiding Citizen.

Yeah while watching this it reminded me of Law Abiding citizen as well, not just for the reasons you listed, but for all the plot holes.
