Methodist review - was he a Methodist?

I reviewed this for a Methodist newspaper in the UK - http://pdmfilmreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/mandela-long-walk-to-free dom-12a.html

I heard he had studied at a Methodist school and may have been one himself... In my research I couldn't find much about this, and so I've been quite coy in mentioning it in the review. Any thoughts? Great film overall, should've had Oscar nom's for Elba and Harris.
