There#s been a lot of talk about Elba's performance as Mandela, mainly that he looks nothing like him physically (apart from the obvious thing).

To me it's less about appearance, and more how the actor captures the essence of the person they are portraying. I just watched one film after the other, and appreciated each of them. Elba and Howard both had their moments.

Terence Howard looks too short and probably wouldnt have been able to play the part well. Plus it was actually good that they used someone who is African instead of an American.
As I grow older, I pay less attention to what people post, I just watch their avatars.
