Who did what re. the Season 2 assault?

SPOILERS! Help appreciated for these 3 questions:

My understanding is that the assault was orchestrated by Denton to eliminate Tommy, whom he thought was blackmailing him with the photos of him and the underage Carly. But apparently it was Denton who took the photos. How is all that explained?

Much was made of Denton, right after the assault, moving the tracker from her car to the one with Tommy. Why is that important?

The last episode flashback shows Denton saying "Fuck" and turning off the planned route, baffling Akers & Tommy. Why did Denton make that decision?

The assault was organized by Cottan because Tommy threatens to rat if he goes to trial. It was supposed to scare Cottan into springing him but it sealed his fate. Cottan bribed Denton who took the money because she wanted Tommy dead. I believe at the last minute she changed her mind and turned off the planned route but they knew where she was anyway and that's when she figured out there was a tracker on her car. In haste she removed the tracker from her car and put on another car but it only made her look guilty later when forensics figured out it had originally been on her car. She could have left it on her car and it would have worked to her favor later.
