Thins is SO much better than the 2016 series http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4047038/ which is WAY too dark and serious, and totally lacks any humor or respect for what Douglas Adams actually wrote. Avoid that one, and seek out this version, if you haven't already seen it.
shareI like them both, actually. I never read the two Dirk Gently novels so I don't have to worry about comparing the two series favorably or unfavorable to them. I think the two series each have their own merits. With Dirk Gently (2010) I'm disappointed there are so few episodes because I'm enjoying it enormously. After I watched the first one though, I discovered that there was a pilot episode. So I went back and watched that before going to episode two. Only one more episode left, unfortunately!

I liked them both. I read the Douglas Adams' novels, but I really don't remember them. It's absolutely maddening that they abandoned this brilliant series after only FOUR friggin' episodes! WTF?? IDIOTS!!!
