Bikie wars? I mean really how the hell do you put a word like bikie in front of anything remotely violent.
I honestly half expected guys in spandex slap fighting after seeing the title, maybe im missing something and somewhere on the planet "bikie" is a lot tougher of a word than it is in america...but damn the title makes it sound like they should have hello kitty motorcycles.
the program is sh!te but australian telly is so lamentable this is what we're left with.

Hahahaha! Okay, this is funny. I realize there is certainly a cultural/language difference between us in the States and Australians, and this is just the term they use. I've watched a ton of Australian TV and I have some Australian friends, so I've become more familiar (desensitized? immune? LOL!) to some of their terms and expressions, but yes, "bikie" just sounds sooo NOT badass.
Kinda makes you think of big tough guys curling up later with their blankies, doesn't it?
Aussies seem to put 'ie' into everything, though -
"Grab a tinnie at the brickie's barbie over in Brizzie, but mind the bities and the blowies don't nibble yer bikkies".
It reminds me of how almost every Afrikaans noun seems to end in 'ie', too:
- Polisie: Cops
- Patrollie sakkie: Patrol bag
- Stokkie - Stick
- Bussie: Bus/minivan
- Dankie Tannie: Southern Cross
- Doppies: cartridge cases
- Ammunisie: Ammunition
- Boekies: Books
- Roofie: Newbie
- Inspeksie: Inspection
