This was Horrible......
Okay, it's because I've worked in the movie industry that I'm shocked that quality has slipped so badly. Now I'm forgiving of cheap stuff the slips by that I can tell, was a result of having no money. I can forgive taking shortcuts due to budget. But being over the top stupid with "no upside" is just unforgivable.
1) Gotta love the airsoft gun industry. That's where gun flashes are put in digitally later, but early on in the movie when the so called 'commandos' are attacking the South American Rebel camp, a lot of the guys I think didn't realize that they were supposed to be 'shooting'. So we see gun flashes coming out of guy's guns as they just either stand there or are running willy nilly all over the place.
2) As a result of cheap airsoft toy guns we now see shabby South American rebels carrying really expensive European Assault rifles with either Aimpoint or ACOG or Elcan scopes. Wow, who knew that these paupers walked around with multi thousand dollar Swiss Rifles (SiG 550s) instead of the cheaper and ubiquitous AK.
3) The interior of the Blackhawk helicopter is like the Tardis. It magically becomes larger than the interior of an MH-53 or similar heavy cargo helicopter.
4) One of the soldiers wants to throw the Rebel leader out of the helicopter .... except he suggests that they go to an elevation of 35,000 feet where it is -55 degrees and the air is so thin that he would suffocate and freeze to death on the way down. Except that if this helicopter DID do such a thing (which they can't) everyone else would suffer the same fate, being that the Helicopter is not pressurized or heated and they would freeze just like him when they opened the door to push him out.
5) I think the actors KNOW this is a piece of dung, so they're over acting intentionally just to have fun with it.
I can go on but I realize that I'm torturing myself by doing so. I"m just irritated that someone thought that this script was a good script and that this director was not on crack.......
Dr. Kila Marr was right. Kill the Crystalline Entity.share
