Should the president have stepped aside upon wife's death?

When the First Lady passed away in the accident, should the President have stepped aside temporarily because a man in grief would not be able to be an effective chief executive? He could do this by declaring himself incapacitated, similar to what Reagan and GW Bush did before undergoing sedative medical procedures, temporarily transferring power to their VPs to become Acting Presidents.
